Edmonton Korean Canadian Women's Association Hosts 2025 Annual General Meeting
The Edmonton Korean Canadian Women's Association (EKCWA) convened its 2025 Annual General Meeting on February 22 at the Ramada by Wyndham Edmonton South. The gathering featured the presentation of the 2024 financial report, the election of a new president and board members, and the awarding of scholarships under the Female Leader of Next Generation Scholarship program.
Lisa Han (Han, Bora) was elected as the new president, and eight distinguished individuals—Ki Lee, Jane Park, Sooni An, Kyunghee Seo, Kwangja Lee, Junae Ko, Haewon Cho, and Julia Youm—were appointed to the board of directors. Additionally, members voted to advance the process of securing joint ownership of the Korean Community Center, marking a significant milestone for the organization and the broader community.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of four exceptional students—Caroline Lyu, Elisa Molstad, Ye-In Jeong, and Kelsey O'Rourke—who were awarded scholarships for their outstanding academic performance and commitment to community service.
The event concluded on a poignant note with a farewell address from EKCWA’s esteemed founder, Chairwoman Shin-Ok Noh, who formally announced her retirement. Her unwavering dedication and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the association’s legacy and impact.
EKCWA extends its deepest appreciation to all past presidents, board members, and volunteers for their invaluable contributions. Their steadfast commitment continues to inspire and empower future generations of Korean-Canadian women in Edmonton and beyond.
